About Olivier Cresp, the nose behind Peoneve
Olivier Cresp was born and raised in Grasse, in Provence, the spiritual home of fragrance. He knew from an early age he wanted to be a perfumer. His grand-parents and great grand-parents were involved in the cultivation of roses and jasmine, the two flowers that dominate Grasse and the perfume industry.
After finishing school he went directly into training for his chosen metier. Working with different companies and perfumers over the years inspired Olivier‘s passion for precision, uniqueness and a desire to create fragrances that people would remember and derive great pleasure from.
After working for Quest for a number of years, Olivier has been based at Firmenich in Paris, creating work for clients the world over. He was granted the title Master Perfumer in 2006. He has authored and co-authored many well-known scents including Dolce Gabbana Light Blue, Cacharel Noa, Givenchy Ange ou Démon and Midnight Poison for Dior.
He is of course best known for Angel, the extraordinary and polarising fragrance he created for Thierry Mugler in 1992. In 2012 Olivier was presented the prestigious Chevalier de l‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, awarded to those who have made a ‘significant contribution to the enrichment of the French cultural inheritance.’
