4711 Original Eau de Cologne was formulated in 1792 whilst the instantly recognisable 'Molanus' flacon was created by Peter Heinrich Molanus in 1820. The precise composition of what is arguably the earliest true 'Cologne' remains a guarded secret but the principal ingredients include the essence of essential oils from select citrus fruits and small quantities of Rosemary and Lavender. The result is an incredibly clean and fresh citrus cologne that instantly revives the wearer. What makes 4711 truly unique is its power to compliment and even enhance other fragrances since it leaves only a whisper of scent and never clashes.
